Advisor Mastery Program hosts reception at Black Financial Advisors Symposium

The Advisor Mastery Program held an event at the Black Financial Advisors Symposium, giving candidates a chance to learn more about the program and network with firm leaders.

This February, the Raymond James Black Financial Advisors Network (BFAN) hosted the fifth annual Black Financial Advisors Symposium, providing an opportunity for Raymond James black financial advisors across the country to come together for a dynamic conference focused on professional development and networking.

This year’s program included presentations from industry and firm leaders, interactive business development workshops and peer sharing opportunities with other black financial advisors at the firm. The forum is designed exclusively for black financial advisors in all stages of their careers, and for its second year, also featured a talent reception for candidates to network with leaders in the firm and learn more about becoming a financial advisor through the  Advisor Mastery Program  (AMP)*.

This year’s reception began with a networking session that allowed candidates to speak with advisors and leaders in the firm about what it’s like to work at Raymond James. The presentation began with co-founder of BFAN and Philadelphia Complex Manager Tony Barrett, who welcomed guests and provided a brief history of the network. Matt Ransom, VP of new FA development, discussed how the Advisor Mastery Program prepares new trainees for success in the industry. Chris Fils, complex manager and BFAN member, shared more about the advisor experience and why he chose Raymond James as his firm. Finally, Mercy Ameyaw, director of Internal Audit, spoke about the Raymond James culture of diversity and inclusion, setting it apart from other firms. The presenters also participated in a question and answer panel where candidates asked questions about the program and learned more about the panelists’ personal journeys, before closing the evening with additional networking opportunities.

*AMP offers a comprehensive education for the next generation of Raymond James financial advisors through distance learning, apprenticeship and sessions at the firm’s international headquarters. The program takes a holistic approach, incorporating training for technical and sales skills to fully position new advisors for success.
